The Pink Flowering Dogwood (Cornus Florida Rubra) is both a flowering and ornamental tree, with growth height of around 25′ and a spread of around 25′ at maturity. Is considered a medium grower with height increases of 13–24″ per year. The pink dogwood grows in acidic, loamy, moist, rich, sandy, well-drained and clay soils. Blooms in April and May, with pink blooms with dark green leaves that are oval in shape with a sharp point. The leaves turn red or reddish-purple in the fall. Produces glossy red fruit that ripen in the fall.
Full sun and partial shade are recommended, meaning it prefers a minimum of four hours of direct, unfiltered sunlight each day.
