McIntosh Apple trees (Malus domestica ‘McIntosh’) produce moderately large fruit with a delicious apple aroma. The tree is a vigorous grower maturing to a height and spread of 20-25′. Produces round, red, mildly tart fruit and has a soft texture when cooked. Wonderful apple for fresh-eating, sauces, and cider. Good keeper in proper storage.
Cold-hardy. Ripens in August. Well-drained, moist, organic soil. Medium growth rate. Requires 900 chill hours.
Cross-pollinate with Gala, Granny Smith or any white-blossom Crabapple.
Full sun is recommended.
