Dwarf Fothergilla (Fothergilla gardenii) commonly known as coastal fothergilla, is a slow-growing, deciduous, dwarf ornamental shrub that is native to moist lowland coastal plain bogs. It is a compact, mounding shrub that typically grows 2-3 ft tall and wide. Flowers in dense bottlebrush-like spikes in spring before the leaves appear. Features aromatic flowers and blue-green to green leaves with marginal teeth. Leaves often turn brilliant shades of yellow, orange and red in fall. Great for shrub borders, foundations, cottage gardens, open woodland areas or native plant areas.
