Cherry Laurel (Prunus laurocerasus ‘Otto Luyken’) also known as common laurel and sometimes English laurel is a broad, dense, spreading, evergreen shrub/small tree. Matures to a height of 10-18’ with a spread of 20-25’. The leaves are dark green, leathery, and shiny. Foliage is evergreen with no fall color. Creamy, white flower buds appear in early spring and open in early summer. Flowers have a powerful aroma. Produces small fruit that is inedible for humans but loved by birds.
