The Brown Turkey Fig tree is a moderate growing tree, reaching heights up to 15 to 25′ with spreads up to 15-20′. An attractive deciduous tree with an intriguing winter silhouette. The Brown Turkey Fig Tree is a favorite in the southeast for fresh eating and canning whole. The fig is medium sized, bell shaped, purplish-brown with light pink flesh. The Brown Turkey is mild, sweet and the texture is fleshy and soft.
This small productive tree will produce delicious sweet figs in summer and usually a secondary crop in early fall. Perfect for the garden, keep it close by to easily harvest its two yearly crops of fruit.

Plant in loamy, moist, well drained soils. Recommended Soil pH Level 6.0 – 6.5. Will require more water as the temperature rises or in times of drought. Self-fertile. May yield 2 distinct crops in locations with a long, warm growing season. Grows well in containers! Heat-tolerant.
