Black Chokeberry (Aronia melanocarpa) is a common upright, open shrub with white flower clusters in spring and black fruits in fall and winter. Mature height 6-10′ and mature width 3-5. Tolerates both wet and dry sites; prefers acid soil. Clusters of small, white flowers in mid-spring; small, round bright red fruit in late summer and autumn; autumn color is red to reddish-purple. Tolerates dry, moist, and well-drained soil.
Full sun to partial shade is recommended.
