The Aphrodite Tree-form Althea A.K.A. Rose of Sharon, has been grafted to produce a tree form version of one of Americas favorite flowering shrubs. This single-bloom Hibiscus gives a tropical look to any landscape all summer long. Aphrodite is one of the best, strongest growing, pink varieties of Rose of Sharon, making it a perfect candidate for a tree-form. This ornamental tree will grow to heights of 8′-12′ with spreads up to 6-8′. An abundance of large, pink flowers centered with red are produced during the summer. They seem to just keep on blooming and blooming -for up to three months! No need to worry about seedlings or sprouts coming up from the roots, this in a non-invasive variety. Altheas are easy to grow; preferring a well-drained moist soil. Maintenance is minimal requiring little or no pruning. Insect and disease problems are little to none.
